It’s so practical; you just pop a coffee capsule or pod in your machine, press the start button and in no time you’ve freshly brewed coffee in your cup. What has been standard procedure when it comes to coffee beans for many years was once considered to be impossible in connection with tea, as the sensitive leaves need to be processed using a completely different method to prepare a beverage.
But we have started a revolution in the world of tea: with our Avoury One® tea machine, freshly filtered water is fed into the brewing chamber and the hot water is allowed to percolate gradually through the capsule during the infusion process to ensure that the full flavour and delicate aromas of the tea are preserved in the cup. 1. It is simplicity itself to use
Tea can be very complex when it comes to flavours – included our range are a wide assortment of tea varieties that impressively demonstrate this; from black teas with their robust flavours, white teas and their delicate subtleties to our fruit teas that embrace a whole world of tastes and aromas, an example of which is our BLOOMING RASPBERRY. Many may consider that preparation of a cup of tea is really just a simple and intuitive process. With such individuals in mind, our objective was to develop a tea machine that would make it possible to automatically brew a cup of any variety of tea perfectly without needing to know the various relevant determinants, such as appropriate infusion time and water temperature. And in this we have succeeded - and that on several levels.
For one thing, it is child’s play to operate the machine: all you need to do is remove the film lid from the top of the Avoury® TeaCycle Cap® and insert the capsule in the upper chamber of the machine. The tea capsule will slip into place; you then simply close the chamber, whereupon the machine will automatically identify the variety of tea that is present and preparation can begin. Having recognised the variety, the Avoury One now selects the perfect water temperature and infusion time required for the type of tea. Assuming the water tank is already full, you can start the infusion process by pressing the relevant button in the control panel on the top of the machine. Just pop a cup in place, sit back, and that ideal cup of tea will be produced before your very eyes.
If, on the other hand, you prefer to customise infusion time and water volume to produce a taste that is to your own personal preference, this too is easily done - and not just by adjusting the settings using the control panel; there is also an Avoury® app that will help you. Using the app you can choose how your tea is prepared and you’ll also get a push notification to tell you that your tea is ready. Additionally with the app you can also start the descaling and cleaning programs and buy more tea capsules when you are running low directly from our shop – everything at just the press of a button, hassle-free and intuitive as a part of your everyday routine; as relaxing as a cup of tea itself.
2. Top quality preparation
Of course, it has always been important to us to make sure that the method used to prepare our finest tea varieties, such as our LEGEND OF PAI MU TAN®, EARL GREY and MILKY FAVOURITE takes account of their special, individual characteristics. Because of this, we have developed a brewing system that is capable of producing tea in both the time and with the meticulousness it requires; after all, if you want a good cup of tea, then you’ve got to use quality ingredients and you can’t rush it - even the latest conventional tea makers and kettles simply can’t compete in this respect.
On the commencement of the preparation process, water at the correct temperature flows into the tea capsule that is already present in the unique brewing chamber of the Avoury tea machine. The water is carefully swirled around the tea so that it can fully release its taste and aromas; a process that differs markedly from that in systems in which the flavours are extracted using pressurised water. When the set infusion time is over, the tea is poured directly into the provided cup. The used capsule falls into a separate compartment from which you can readily remove it for appropriate disposal.
Subsequently, the machine initiates a brief rinsing phase to guarantee that the flavour of the next cup of tea is not impaired by the previous preparation cycle. This means that, even directly after making a cup of green tea such as our GINGER LEMON, you can then prepare a delicately flavoured herbal tea like our THE CAMOMILE. Every individual taste sensation is perfectly preserved. The machine is even easy to clean with our liquid descaler and the specially developed cleaning capsules. The relevant programs can be handily controlled using the app while this intuitive maintenance process means that all components of the machine will last as long as possible. Shortly after completion of a run, the machine will automatically switch itself off.
3. The future is tea capsules
It is obvious that a high quality tea capsule machine needs high quality tea capsules to complement it. We started from scratch to create our own tea capsules, which have been carefully adapted to the demands of tea drinkers and the options offered by our capsule machine. Our stylish Avoury TeaCycle Caps provide for not just the perfect cup of tea but considerably more than you might think at first glance - when capsules and capsule machine are brought together, they also work together.
All the information that our capsule machine requires to automatically recognise the tea variety is provided in encoded form on the base of each capsule. This enables the machine to select the optimal settings for preparing the tea in question. Hence, while a short infusion time will suffice for our STRONG ASSAM, a fruit tea, such as our FLOWERY RHUBARB, will need to be infused for longer to extract all its flavours.
Each capsule for our state of the art tea maker contains an individually portioned amount of premium tea so that every taste nuance is retained. Moreover, our TeaCycle Caps are trailblazers in terms of sustainability, as the capsule bodies are made entirely of recycled plastic. In other words, they are made from a recyclate produced using recycled plastic; the capsules can even be recycled following their use. The capsules can be disposed with other plastic recyclables so that they can be reintroduced into the recycling system to be again processed as part of the circular economy. Alternatively, we also offer a recycling bag, in which you can return your used capsules to us.
4. A tea capsule machine with the edge when it comes to design
A particular bonus of our tea machine is the way that a symbiosis has been created between function and design. A standard tea maker or a simple kettle is, on the whole, merely a means to an end. All you do is take this basic utensil from wherever it is you keep it to prepare your tea and then return it to its accustomed place. Fair enough; it does what it is supposed to do. However, we decided that this was a not a route down which we wished to go.
And so, we resolved to reinterpret the tea-making machine, specifically with regard to its appearance. We placed considerable emphasis on giving the Avoury One a design that reproduced all the refinements of tea preparation so that the optical effect alone is of merit.
